The Empty Gallery develop collaborative projects between Claque Theatre and a local community or group to create mobile 'interactive theatre-art and heritage exhibitions' that reflects the lives, thoughts and stories of the community who create it. 2022 The Empty Gallery Cafe
The Empty Gallery Cafe is a new addition, Created initially in 2020 to help us through the Covid Pandemic. The Cafe is a meeting place for the community to have conversations around questions that matter. Based on the World Café methodology, it's a simple, effective, and flexible format for hosting conversations that can accommodate large groups of people.
Silhouette's for 'Battles Over'
As part of our Battles over project we we produced a gallery of First World War silhouettes in the windows of Rusthall High Street and 'There but Not There' transparent soldiers in St Paul's Church. The Large cut out silhouettes illustrated the stories of written in Clive Robert's book Rusthall's Fallen. To read more click Here
The Aldgate Heritage Project
We have recently finished Aldgate Heritage Project in the City of London, an Empty Gallery celebrating cultural diversity and stories of migration, immigration and personal journeys told through exhibitions in a suitcase, Edwardian photographs mounted in the the streets of the East End and recorded interviews.
